Weather Forecast For 16th October 2017

The disturbance in the Bay of Bengal sea area to the North-east of the island has developed in to a  low pressure area. It is likely to develop in to a Depression and move away from the island. Cloudy conditions are expected to continue further and fairly strong winds can be expected over the island and surrounding sea areas during next few days.

Showers or thundershowers at times are expected in Sabaragamuwa & Central provinces.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Western, North-Western, North-Central and Northern provinces and in Galle and Mathara districts.

Fairly heavy falls (about 50-75 mm) can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
