Vijay Is Not the Only Reason To Watch Mersal, Here Are Others

Mersal, the much-anticipated film of actor Vijay is slated to release on October 18. Directed by Theri fame Atlee, this film has created a lot of hype with the music composed by AR Rahman and the different looks of Vijay that were initially released. The fact that Ilayathalapathy Vijay will be doing three different roles for the first time is a reason enough for fans to watch this film. But, here’s why you should watch this film.
To satiate your curiosity
Why three Vijays in Mersal? Are they father and twin sons? Is this a revenge drama? These were the questions that cam to our mind when we watched the trailer of the film. Later, there were also hints that the son (played by Vijay, of course) was portraying both the characters. This is probably the part of a winding revenge plot. Whichever is the case, you want to know the answer to all the whys.
The fan experience
There is no experience equal to that of watching a movie of an actor amid his die-hard fans. The loud claps, cheers and the wolf-whistles for the entry scene is an experience unlike any. There is this infectious joy in the air, which might even change your opinion about the film. The dialogues that they react to, the scenes that they applaud will tell you why Vijay has the fan base that he does.
Director’s hit formula
If you enjoy watching commercial films, then Mersal is a must watch. Today, very few commercial movies are being appreciated at the box office. There are various reasons for that, but director Atlee has churned out two successful movies such as Raja Rani and Theri and may be on to a hat-trick. Mersal could be a movie that fits right in the category titled ‘decent popcorn entertainment’.
Let’s call a spade a spade: peer pressure
You want to be in the loop when your timeline on social media is crowded with references to this film. You would surely like to know why a particular meme is funny. To discuss and dissect why Mersal was good or not good will be a legit pastime on social media in the days to come.
A Tamil movie release after two weeks
Mersal — also starring Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Akkineni and Nithya Menon — is the first movie to release after a two-week strike by the Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council. Now, that’s reason enough to get ready for this cinematic experience.
