New Local Big Onion Price Increase Due to 100% Tax

The price of a kilogramme of local big onions which  were sold at Rs. 40 has been increased between Rs. 70 and Rs. 100 per kilogramme.

When inquires were made from the Dambulla Economic Centre, it was revealed that during the last few days, a kilogramme of local big onions were sold at Rs. 40.

Farmers point out that the cause for the price rise is the 100% tax on imported big onions, which was imposed by the president.
