Separate Disaster Management Project to Address Problems of People in Uma Oya Project Areas.

In his capacity as Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, President Maithripala Sirisena has submitted a cabinet paper proposing a separate Disaster Management Project to be established near Bandarawela Town to address problems faced by victims of Uma Oya Project.

In the forth coming seasonal raining period, water leak from the Uma Oya Project may cause difficulty to people in that area. All their problems need to be addressed by this Disaster Management Project. The Cabinet has approved the proposal made by the President Maithreepala Sirisena.
