Buses Operators  using Kerosene instead of diesel?

Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Investigation Unit has detected that bus operators are using kerosene instead of diesel and operate. The government has reduced the price of kerosene with the view to relieve the burden on poor people including fisher folk and those without electricity supply using kerosene .

But unscrupulous bus operators started using kerosene instead of diesel because of its’ low cost.

Private bus operators union President Gamunu Wijeratne has said  the use of kerosene by bus operators increases. During the war time in Jaffna they used kerosene as petrol was scarce.   This practice adopted by bus operators cause loss to the petroleum Corporation said, an official.
