Face to Face Meeting of Heads of State
While Srilanka Podu Jana Peramuna has already started election campaign island wide led by Basil Rajapakshe. Leadership of the SLFP appears to have been shaken by the growing support extended to former President Mahinda Rajapakshe.
Under these circumstances, Leader of the SLFP Maithreepala Sirisena has invited all SLFP party members for a meeting at 1200 hrs on Friday, 3rd November at his official residence. Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe will also be specially invited for this meeting. Party sources said. Official invitations have already been posted to members of the SLFP.
The meeting is scheduled to discuss about the proposed new constitution, local government election and common thing among the two parties
However, Mahinda will not be prepared to reconcile with Maithree, said party sources.
After the meeting of former Head of State Mahinda Rajapakshe and current President Maithreepala Sirisena, important announcements are expected to be made by both parties.
