Expect Lunch Sheet Price Increase

All Ceylon Polythene manufactures and Recylers Association Secretary, Anura Herath said, that ealier lunch sheet and shopping bags were manufactured at an approximate cost of 60 cents per sheet or bag respectively. But to manufacture a lunch sheet and a shopping bag according to government specifications, it costs approximately Rs2.90 and Rs1,00 respectively now. He pointed out that as a considerable sum approximately Rs1.50 to Rs2.00 has to be incurred for the new raw manufacture of a small shopping bag .

Hence, the new lunch sheets and polythene bags have to be priced between Rs 3.50 and 4.00, and a small shopping bag between Rs 1.50 to 2.00 respectively, which will be made available in the market as from 1 st January 2018, he concluded.
