Fasting Political Prisoners Filed Petition in Appeal Court

High Court cases filed against three Tamil political prisoners were transferred from Vavuniya to the Anuradhapura High court inconveniencing the suspects and their lawyers. They are on hunger strike against this arbitrary decision.
On behalf of the three Tamil Political Prisoners, who are languishing in the Anuradhapura Remand Prison, a petition has been filed in the Court of Appeal today morning against the transfer of their High Court case from Vavuniya to Anuradhapura High Court. They prayed that their cases be transferred back to Vavuniya and tried.there.
The petitioners have cited Officer in Charge, Terrorist Investigation Division, as first respondent and Attorney General, second respondent. M.K.P. Chandralal, Attorney-at- Law filed the appeal on behalf of the petitioners, for the transfer of their High Court case back to Vavuniya High Court. It is likely, the case is expected to be taken up of for hearing on the 30th of this month.
