India Vs New Zealand, 1st T20: India Beat New Zealand By 53 Runs; Lead Series 1-0 A

India beat New Zealand by 53 runs to win the first T20 of the three-match series. Despite a brisk knock once again from Tom Latham against India, he alone couldn’t carry the team forward in chase of 53 runs. He didn’t get the desired support required to chase a total of 203 runs. Kane Williamson too got a decent start but couldn’t convert it into a big score. Meanwhile, the spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each to cause damage. Earlier half of the damage was done by Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan when they struck 80 runs apiece in their 158 run stand at the top of the order. It helped further that both got a reprieve with two catches getting dropped. Later Virat Kohli added a rapidfire 26 from 11 balls to take India over the 200 run mark. Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first in Delhi. Shreyas Iyer played his debut game while Ashish Nehra bid farewell.
