Further Concession For Import of Vehicles.

Minister of Mass Media and Finance Mangala Samaraweera has announced further concessions for import of vehicles.

One of the concessions is to permit those, who had established Letter of Credit to import vehicle prior to 9th November to clear their vehicle from customs by paying tax based on earlier rates. However, the clearance should be done on or before 30 th April 2018.

The other concession is to grant the same tax reduction granted for import of electric cars ( 1 Mn ) to import of recondition vehicles used less than one year. Earlier 50% was allowed for leasing vehicles, which has now been revised to 30 % on 70.
