ndia vs Sri Lanka, 2nd Test Day 3: After Virat Kohli’s heroics, it was Rohit Sharma’s turn to reach his milestone. The batsman, who was kept on the sidelines from the Test squad in recent months, found his groove and stitched a strong partnership with the skipper. After Kohli got out on 213, Sharma started scoring at a fast pace and ensured he reaches his 3rd Test hundred. It was a patient innings from the 30-year old who justified his spot in the team. It was a long wait of four years for Sharma to reach the milestone again. He last reached the three-figure score in the format way back in 2013 against West Indies. India declared immediately afterwards setting Sri Lanka the mammoth task of chasing down 405 runs or suffer an innings defeat. Coming into the attack, Ishant Sharma struck on the second ball as he got the wicket of Sadeera Samarawickrama. Dimuth Karunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne settled down on the crease and ensured that the visitors do not lose any more wickets in the day. At stumps, Sri Lanka were at 21/1 and were still trailing India by 384 runs. India need 9 wickets to set themselves up for a 1-0 lead in the series.
