Smuggling 12kg of Cannabis in Luxury Bus Nabbed

On a tip off received, Killinochi police carried out a search operation on a luxury bus plying between Point Pedro and Kurunegala at Palai. Police found over 12 Kg of cannabis and arrested driver and the conductor. They were produced before the Killinochchi District Judge.

As the driver pleaded innocence with valid reasons that he was unaware of the cannabis in the bus, he was released. However Killinochchi District Judge A.Anandarajah ordered the other suspect to remand him until 21 st December 2017 Killinochchi Police is carrying out further investigations.
