Police Raided a Hideout in Vaddukoddai & Arrested a Six Member Sword Cutting Gang in Jaffna

Sword cutting has become the order of the day in Jaffna. Recently on 4 th December two individuals were attacked by a sword swinging group of gangsters at Meesalai, Chavakachcheri. They come in gang on motorbikes and disappear in no time after the attack.

Acting on a tip – off police raided a hideout in Vaddukkodai area last night and arrested this 6 member gang which terrorized Jaffna. Several swords and sharp weapons found in the possession of the suspects were also taken into custody.

Police said that the arrested suspects are wanted in connection with a series of acts of violence, robberies and threatening incidents in the region. They were produced before the Mallakam Magistrate, who ordered to remand them until 21 st December 2017.
