Minister of Power’s  Discussion With CEB Trade Unions Today

Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Trade Unions launched a hunger strike as from Monday  registering their  protest for granting  increase in salaries  to senior employees only, and the slashing of certain privileges. Today is the fourth day of hunger strike.

A discussion between 32 trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, is scheduled to be held this morning (14)

Convener of the Joint trade unions of the CEB, Ranjan Jayalal, said they will continue the hunger strike until their demands are met.
