Weather Forecast For 16th December 2017

North-east monsoon may establish in next few days over the Island.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Eastern and Uva provinces.

Few showers may occur in the other provinces.

Fairly heavy falls (about 75mm) can be expected at some places particularly in theWestern,Sabaragamuwaand Uva provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Fairly strong gusty winds (up to 50kmph) can be expected in the NorthernandNorth central provinces.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, North-western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
