Insurance Payment For Crops Destroyed Due to Natural Disaster
Compensation for crop failure due to disaster and other unforeseen reasons will be covered by an insurance scheme coming into operation as from 20th December. Rs 40, 000 compensation will be paid per acre under this insurance scheme.
This insurance scheme covers cultivation of rice, corn, big onion, potato and Chilli.
Government has allocated Rs 300 million for this insurance scheme in the budget for the year 2018.
For crops failure due to drought, flood , landslide Rs 10,000 was paid in the recent past.
