Over 100 Private Buses Operate Without  Route Permits

The National Transport Commission Chairman M.A.H Hemachandra says that nearly 100 private buses operating from Colombo to distant areas run without a route permit.

He further said that around 30 buses from Jaffna to Colombo run without a route permit with the connivance of police stations. The chairman said, as per existing laws, it was difficult to charge the buses according to transportation law.
