Students Caught Cheating at G.C.E.(O L) Exam Prohibited From Sitting Public Examinations

The Department of Examinations has prohibited the two students, who were detained for using their mobile phones to cheat at the GCE Ordinary Level mathematics paper from all public examinations after an inquiry by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
G.C.E (OL) two students sitting for the examination, one from Anuradhapura and another from Colombo were detained for questioning after they were caught using their mobile phones while answering the O/level mathematics paper yesterday (18).
The student from Anuradhapura, who was re-sitting the mathematics examination had taken pictures of the question paper and sent them to his female companion via Viber. Police sources stated that the female individual has been identified and reprimanded.  The student from Colombo was also a student re-sitting the mathematics examination. The Department of Examinations stated that both students will be prohibited from sitting all public examinations following the incident.
