President Need Not Obtain AG’s Approval, Straightaway Case Will be Filed – Dayasri

As per decision taken at the Central Working Committee of the SLFP, a Presidential Commission to probe in to the Central Bank bond scam was appointed. Report of the Presidential Commission on CB bond scam will not be suppressed. The President has recently clearly spelt out, that he won’t hesitate to use the sword irrespective of whether the accused is from the government  party or opposition party. Anyone committed the offence will be punished irrespective of rank and file. A comprehensive investigation on CB bond scam is over. Next step is to file charges in the court of law against those accused in the report.

Since, comprehensive  investigation was done by the Presidential Commission headed  by a sitting judge of the High Court, he would have looked into the legal aspects as well and given a clear decision. Hence, there is no need to submit to the Attorney General and wait. Straight away cases could be filed, said Minister cum co-media spokesman of the SLFP. Punishment will be meted out to offenders. No one can rob and escape under this government. This government is formed with the clear vision of fighting and eliminating thieves. There won’t be any place for thieves or those, who is aiding and abetting thieves, he concluded.
