Eligibility of LG Council Candidates To Be Examined and Assessed – EC

The eligibility of candidates fielded by political parties and independent groups for the Local Government Election will be examined and assessed, said Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.

Deshapriya further said, the matter will be taken up for discussion with election monitoring bodies as well.A round of talks between the Elections Commission and secretaries of political parties will be held today.
