President Maithreepala Sirisena has recently challenged to have the central bank bond report debated in parliament before 10th February, Local Government Election Day.
In response, the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe has said that the debate into the bond report would take place on February 8 and he has requested the speaker .
Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking in Wellawaya on Saturday (27) said that he would request that the debate on the Central Bank bond report be debated in Parliament before February 7, if possible. The people would not know the outcome of the debate, if it is to be held on February 8. Based on the outcome people may decide to whom they should vote in local government election. in order to make an informed decision at the forthcoming Local Government elections.
