Party Leaders Meeting on Bond Report Debate Ended Without Any Decision

President Maithrpala Sirisena recently challenged the Parties concerned  to debate the Bond report in  Parliament before the LG elections.  In response Prime Minister Ranil Wickramesinghe requested the Speaker to arrange the debate on the 8th February. In the meantime Mahinda Rajapaksa made a  request to have the debate on 7th February.
Meanwhile President welcome the suggestion made by the  PM and called party leaders for the meeting yesterday. The Joint Opposition and JVP didn’t attend the meeting.
Today Speaker called for the party leaders meeting. Since no agreement has been reached among party leaders, the Speaker announced that a decision will be taken after consulting the Prime Minister.
