Good News For Social Media Users

The Federation of Information Technology Industry believes social media sites that were temporarily banned will be enabled today (11).

Chairman Dr. Kithsiri Manchanayake said according to information received the ban will be lifted today.

The ban on Facebook, WhatsApp, Viber and Imo was due to be lifted yesterday.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission blocked social media networks across the country in order to prevent the spread of communal violence.
