Membership of 2 SLFP MPs to be Removed if Proved Their Involvement in Recent Disturbances?

Certain members of the SLFP said, that they propose to bring a resolution on the next working committee meeting of the SLFP to remove the membership of two SLFP MPs in the Joint Opposition who said to have involved in the recent disturbances in the Kandy district. They said that the SLFP is a national party representing Sinhala, Tamil, Muslim and all other races. Hence, a few members cannot be allowed to do things which label the SLFP as a communal party.
If the police investigation proves their involvement, they will take up the matter with the president of the SLFP and agitate removal of their membership from the SLFP.
