Decision on State of Emergence Only After PM Consults President
Despite the defence authorities had informed the government that 70 percent of the investigations had been completed as of now, and it would be wise to delay lifting the state of emergency until the balance investigations on the recent incidents in Kandy are concluded, the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is to discuss this matter with the President and take a decision whether to extend the state of emergency or not.
Hence, a decision can be expected only after 18th March 2018.
