Liquor Shops in the Island Will be Closed For New Year & Vesak

All  liquor shops in the island will be closed on April 13 and 14 due to the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, the Department of Excise said.

In the meantime, the liquor shops will also be closed on April 29 and 30 due to Vesak Poya.

Special observation programme will be carried out during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year festive season to prevent excise crimes and irregularities at establishments licensed by the excise department.

The programme will be carried out from  April 9 to 15.
