Trade Union Action by Locomotive Engineering Operators From Tuesday

The Locomotive Engineering Operators’ Union said they will move away from operating trains with Chinese built compartments from Tuesday (8).

This decision was reached at their Executive Committee meeting yesterday ( 2),  Secretary of the Union Indika Dodangoda said.

The Union had also decided to stop operating trains on the Kelaniweli Line, he said.
