SL Tourism Development Authority Introduces 1990 Ambulance Service From July

The 1990 Ambulance service was introduced in Srilanka  with the assistance of  Indian government.
1990 is Sri Lanka’s very first fully fledged free pre-hospital care ambulance service with state of the art fully equipped vehicles.
Now the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority said, that the 1990 Ambulance service would be introduced to some key tourist destinations across the country from July to December this year.
“The tourist sites and the places where the ambulances will be located are as follows. Sigiriya – Habarana Police Station( 12km), Yala – Katharagama Police Station( 2.4 km), Ella – Ella Police Station (700m), Passikudha – Kalkudha Police Station (650m), Arugambay – Pottuvill Police Station (6 km),” the SLTDA, quoting Dumindra Ratnayaka, Advisor to 1990, said.
