Fr. Timber Corporation Chairman Anuruddha Polgampola to Be Produced Before Court Today
The Former Chairman of the State Timber Cooperation Anuruddha Polgampola was arrested and remanded until today on charges of failing to appear before Court in connection the financial fraud amounting to 8.9 million rupees.
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne ordered the suspect to be produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrates Court today.
A case was filed against Anuruddha Polgampola at the Kilinochchi Magistrates Court for issuing a bounced cheque for 8.9 million rupees to a providing a supplier of gravel for the construction of a Northern Railway line.
However the Kilinochchi Magistrates Court issued a warrant for Polgampola’s arrest on the 4th of May as he failed to appear before Court for the hearing.
Accordingly the Criminal Investigations Department arrested Anuruddha Polgampola.
