Demonstration Against Attempt to Amend Laws Covering Muslim in Srilanka
A demonstration was held in front of Colombo Davatagaha mosque after today’ s Jumma prayer. In this demonstration participants demanded to remove the committee appointed to look into the amendments.
In the meantime, to bring amendment to the said law a committee was appointed by the Ministry of Justice, which is expected to submit it’s report on or before 20th November 2016. Demonstrators demanded to hold on the activities of this new committee appointed by the cabinet until such time ministerial Committee submit it’s report
In this demonstration JVP , MP, Bimal Ratnayake and former Central PC Azad Sally and representatives of Muslims and civil organizations participated.
