All Railway Employees Leave Cancelled

The Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee announced that it will engage in a 48-hour token strike commencing from 4pm today.

The Ministry of Transport announces that leave of all the Railway employees has been cancelled ahead of a planned strike. The Deputy Minister of Transport, Ashok Abeysinghe confirmed the leave cancellation.

The leave of all station masters, drivers, guards, technical and others staff attached to the Department of Railway have been cancelled.

The Technical Services Union has demanded to solve their salary anomaly as well as other issues.
