Joint Trade Union of NWSDB Launch Work-to-Rule Campaign

The Joint Trade Union Alliance of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board will withdraw from essential services from from 9am to 4 pm  today (1).
Convenor of Water Supply Joint Trade Union Alliance Upali Ratnayake said salary anomalies and failure by authorities to address several key issues led to their decision to launch a work-to-rule campaign.
He also said employees will withdraw from services at offices and workplaces across the island adding all servicemen will withdraw from daily duties including maintenance and repair services.
He called for authorities to mediate and resolve the issue immediately. He  further noted in view of the trade union action and servicemen withdrawing from all maintenance and repair services interruptions to the water supply are likely.
