Hearing of Avant Garde Nissanka Senadhipathi’s FR Petition Postponed

The Fundamental Rights petition filed by the Chairman of Avant Garde Nissanka Senadhipathi before the Supreme Court calling for an order to be issued for the prevention of his arrest has been postponed to the 19th of June.

The order was issued by a three member bench of Supreme Court judges Vijith Malalalagoda, Buwaneka Aluwihare and Nalin Perera.

Nissanka Senadipathi’s petition cites that the CID intends to arrest and remand him under the Explosives and Firearms Ordinance.

An investigation into the floating armoury at the Galle Port is currently being conducted by the Criminal Investigations Department.
