Removal of More Than 1 Lakh Names From Electoral Register

Last year 126,481 electors’ names were removed from Electoral Register where multiple entries were made in records.

This information was revealed in the Election Commission Performance Appraisal Report which was presented last year in parliament.

It has been reported that the voter who has been registered twice under different addresses has been registered only in the address where he lives.

At the same time, two or more persons were registered under the same ID number, investigation is being conducted through the relevant parties.
