Parliamentary Brawl Report Recommendations

Due to unsettled tense situation in Parliament yesterday, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya  adjourned  Parliament until today and call for a report from the Deputy Speaker and the Deputy Chairman of Committees in connection with the incident. He also informed Parliament that suitable action would be instigated against the MPs involved in the incident.

The report was submitted to the speaker today.

The report compiled on the clash which broke out in Parliament yesterday said to have recommended the highest possible disciplinary action against MPs Palitha Thewarapperuma and Prasanna Ranaweera for causing the tense situation to escalate into an exchange of blows.
