Following a Meeting with Basil Group of 16 Splits

Member of the group of 16 SLFP MPs who left the government,

Followed by the discussion 9 SLFP had with the Basil Rajapakshe, MP T. B. Ekanayake said that he would not participate in the SLFP Central Committee in the future.

Similarly MP Lakshman Yapa Abeywardhana who participated in the discussion said he had also received an invitation to attend the joint opposition meeting due to be held next Monday.

But seven MPs including S. B. Dissanayake, Dilan Perera and Dayasiri Jayasekera did not participate in the meeting.

Although Podujana Front Chairman Professor G. L. Peiris and former Minister Basil Rajapaksa participated in the discussion representing the Podujana Front, they did not express their views to media.

In a function held in Kandy yesterday, a senior SLFP Assistant chairman, Minister Sarath Amunugama says that the group of 16 SLFP MPs who left the Government should take a decision regarding party posts.
