Colombo Remand prison superintendent transferred

 

The superintendent of Colombo Remand prison K.K.S.M.K. Kalu Arachchi has been transferred with immediate effect to Prison headquarters.

Commissioner General of Prison Rohana Pushpakumara said the transfer was made after mobile phones were found in the possession of several inmates and following complaints that certain inmates are handling crime during the election period.

A complaint has also been received from the Election Commissioner.

Meanwhile, U.B. Walisundara has been appointed as the new superintendent of the Colombo Remand Prison.
