(FASTNEWS|COLOMBO) – Three individuals have died after a lorry and bus collided head on in Medawachchiya last night.
Police said a lorry bound to Dambulla had rammed on to a bus plying to Jaffna at around 1150 last night.
Three persons travelling in the bus had succumbed to injuries.
Three children and two adults injured in the accident have been admitted to the Anuradhapura Hospital for treatment.
Police said the driver of the bus has been arrested while the driver of the lorry has absconded.
The Medawachchiya Police is conducting further investigation.
