Five arrested for illegally entering Sri Lankan waters from India

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Five Sri Lankans who had illegally entered Sri Lankan waters from India were arrested in the seas off Talaimannar yesterday (Oct 20).

Navy officers who had been on patrol at the time of the incident had carried out the arrest.

Police have identified the suspects as those between the ages of 29 – 49, from the Pesalai, Jaffna, Talaimannar, and Mannar areas.

They are due to be produced before the Mannar Magistrate’s Court today (Oct 21).
