“No political appointments in state institutes” -Sajith Premadasa

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – Presidential candidate of the New Democratic Front Minister (NDF) Sajith Premadasa says political appointments will not be made under any circumstance, in institutions engaged in financial management.

Speaking at an event in Kandy the Minister said professionals will be prioritized as key points in the country’s economy when formulating state policies.

The Minister said the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, state banks, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Sri Lanka Customs and other institutions will not have political appointments.

Minister Premadasa added the state service will be brought under a streamlined process.

The Minister noted introducing policies alone is insufficient adding that an efficient system is required.
