CID arrests three more Army personnel over journalist’s disappearance

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police has arrested three more army personnel suspected in the abduction of Lanka e News journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda.

Three retired members of the Army intelligence unit have been arrested following the investigations initiated by the CID in to the disappearance of the Prageeth Eknaligoda, who was abducted at Rajagiriya on 24th January 2010.

According to local media reports, earlier the police have surrounded the homes of the three suspects but could not arrest them. However, on Saturday (Sept 05) the suspects have surrendered to the police through their lawyers.
So far in the investigations, the CID has arrested 10 army personnel, both currently serving and retired over the journalist’s disappearance.
