Last 11 cases of Covid-19 are navy personnel

(FASTNEWS | COLOMBO) – The last 11 Coronavirus positive patients reported yesterday are also navy personnel, according to Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva.

The Head of Natrional Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID – 19 Outbreak revealed this speaking to media this morning.

The Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health confirmed that 21 new cases of Covid-19 were identified within yesterday.

This increased the total number of cases reported in the country to 981.

Two of the new cases reported yesterday are persons who had returned from England.

Meanwhile 18 persons had completely recovered yesterday increasing the total number of recoveries to 538.

Presently some 434 active cases of Covid-19 are under medical care while the death toll due to the virus in Sri Lanka is 09.
