Investigations in to the suicide of young girl in Omanthei lead authorities to believe that the suicide was in fact not due to a romance gone wrong but in fact because the deceased’s mother had been seeking employment abroad.
The mother had previously been working abroad and the deceased had been responsible for looking after the household. The burden had weighed heavily on the 14 year olds frail mind.
The young girl’s father had exceedingly pleaded with the mother to not go abroad again but her stubborn demeanor and harsh words had beaten him to silence and resignation.
The girl in question Pavithra had stopped attending school 4 months previously and was showing signs of mental decline.
The Police report regarding her death states that it was a case of murder however neighbors and family claim that the mother and her selfish and stubborn ways were solely responsible for this sad and untimely death.
