The case filed against a group of 8 including United People’s Freedom Alliance MP Namal Rajapaksa over charges of violating the Money Laundering Act is scheduled to be taken up for hearing once again today.
Charges were leveled against the group in respect of purchasing a private company for 125 million rupees obtained through money lanudering
Accordingly, the Colombo Magistrate’s Court banned the group excluding MP Namal Rajapaksa from travelling overseas.
The Magistrate also ordered the police to provide the latest developments in the investigations in Court today (31).
Investigations commenced after Former JVP MP, Wasantha Samarasinghe filed a case against the group.
