Japan Ambassador to Srilanka, Kenechchi Seekanuwa met Power Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya yesterday for a discussion at his Ministry. They discussed about establishing a Thermal Power Station at Sampur. Japanese Ambassador undertook to submit a feasibility report this year and commence work in next year. This thermal power station is expected to produce 500 MW power.
