Showers in Several Places in Srilanka Today

Press release from meteorology Department reads thus :

Cloudy skies are expected over the southern half of the island due to the prevailing atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Eastern, Uva and Southern provinces.

Thundershowers will occur at most places elsewhere particularly after 2.00 pm.

Heavy falls (around 100 mm) are also likely at some places.

There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
