Suspect Arrest with Gold Worth 3 Million at BIA

An individual 48-year-old, from Katugastota, who attempted to illegally smuggle a stock of gold to Mumbai, India has been arrested at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

The gold has been valued at 3 million rupees. The Customs said the individual had concealed the 600 grams of gold in the sole of his shoes.  The gold has been confiscated while the suspect was fined 3 million rupees.
