Unite to Defeat VAT legislation in Parliament- Anura Kumara Dissanayake

Recently introduced  VAT   has brought sufferings to the poor peoples of this country.  Speaking at a press conference at the party headquarters yesterday , JVP leader , Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the new policies will not give relief to the ordinary citizens.

The government’s amendments to the Value Added Tax will further complicate the country’s tax policy, Anura Kumara  claimed.

The VAT legislation, which was presented to Parliament in July, was challeged at the Supreme Court later. It is expected to be debated in Parliament this month.

When the VAT legislation is put for voting  in  Parliament, all right thinking  MPs should get together and defeat it, said Anura.
