A six-year-old girl in Thoppur, Tricomalee was missing and later found dead next to her residence. Followed by a man hunt, a 16 year old boy has been taken into custody.
The police have launched extensive investigations to find out whether the child was raped and killed.
The magisterial inquiry was launched on Thursday, following which the body of the child is scheduled to be handed over for the post-mortem examination on Friday.
