Customs, Inland Revenue and Excise Departments Employees on Protest March in Fort

 Joint trade unions comprising Customs, Inland Revenue and Excise Departments launched a protest at the Lake House roundabout in Colombo Fort against the new Customs Ordinance. Due to this protest demonstration, heavy traffic congestion was reported from the area.

Cabinet Committee on Economic Management granted approval for the enactment of the proposed new Customs Act in May 2017.
